U15 - Woodbridge Town 5 Framlingham Town 1

Town continued their recent good form with a deserved home win against the hardworking and enthusiastic Framlingham visitors. Abbey Barwick scored a well deserved hat-trick which was fair reward for the effort and work rate she puts into each and every game. Her third goal was the result of a sublime through ball from Mel Scrutton that Barwick latched onto after running into space (training does work!!). Vicky Hirst was effective in midfield and played some delightful passes to her forwards. Hirst added her name to the score sheet when she picked up the ball in midfield and lobbed the keeper with a combination and nonchalance and apology! The goal of the game for the watching Town fans came when one of their Gaelic players ghosted into the box for a corner. Niamh Pryke put her boot onto the end of a fine corner and after some juggling by the keeper the ball landed in the net. Guinness all round in the Pryke household that night! Player of the match was tightly contested with Mel Scrutton being the final
recipient of the accolade.

U15 - Boxford Rovers 0 Debenham LC 1

For the second match in succession, Debenham faced a team of equal ability and consequently had another hard battle to secure a result. Debenham won the toss and opted to go uphill for the first half of the game, a decision that was just about vindicated by the final result.
Debenham's defence of Charlie Felgate, Tasha Barker, Zoe Elliott and Abi Walker, for large periods aided by Lisa Dennis, were on top form and competently dealt with everything Boxford could throw at them. A very efficient Boxford defence was dealing equally well with Debenham attacks. Each side was restricted to one real scoring chance in the first half, Boxford breaking through the Debenham last line of defence, but shooting wide, and a very good run and hard cross-come-shot from Jemma French was tipped over the bar by Boxford's keeper. Lisa Dennis was playing well down the wing, but was too often outnumbered by Boxford defenders. Charlie Felgate bravely headed the ball from a Boxford free kick to avert the danger and Jemma French, as usual never stopped running to regain possession for Debenham.

The second half was not very old before Lisa Dennis ran down the wing and shot at the Boxford goal and showed determination to read and get the ball back after losing it. Gradually, Debenhams passing in midfield improved and one particular movement resulted in Jemma French shooting wide. However, just when Debenham appeared to be running out of time, and the game has 0-0 written all over it, a through ball from Clare Bevan saw Sammy Westgate lob the ball over the keepers head and into the net.
There was still just enough time for a good effort by Clare Bevan to be saved by the keeper before the whistle blew to signal the end of the match. It would be hard to pick a player of the match from Lisa Dennis, Jemma French, and Zoe Elliott who marshalled the defence superbly during the whole game, but every Debenham player deserved credit for playing their part.

U14 - Stowupland Falcons 1 Brandon Lasses 7

(Charlotte Howard 4, Dayan Howard 1, Paige Kenny, Jenna Grazing 1)

Brandon travelled to Stow looking to continue their good run but found themselves a goal down after 6 mines from a good break by the home team, the Lasses responded well with Charlotte Howard equalising. Jenna Grazing then gave Brandon the advantage after a very well worked corner and Charlotte made it three with her second.
H/T 1-3

Stow had looked dangerous on the break in the first half and now in the second they had the wind and slope in their favour but the Lasses defence really dug in against some good home forward players. Charlotte completed her hayrick and rounded one of her best performances of the season with her fourth and some really good finishing! Francesca Bonnet again put in a strong performance down the right and was unlucky not to be on the score sheet but did set up Paige Kenny for Brandon's fifth.
Dayan finished the scoring with a superbly struck penalty capping of another good display in midfield. Eve Liddell was another player who really made an impact on the game with a very good performance showing some lovely heading skills. This was a very good all-round team performance with every player playing their part and showing real commitment!

U14 - Cornard Dynamos 3 Bacton United 0

Bacton got off to a terrible start. Straight from the kick-off a Cornard player ran through the middle Bacton players seemed half asleep no -one got a tackle in and we were 1-0 down. After soaking up a bit more pressure Bacton got their game together, Georgie Bryant's wind assisted goal-kicks were ending up in the opposite area, these were causing Cornard problems Grania Smith got her head on one such kick just sending a header the wrong side of the post, Maria Walker in a similar situation went agonizingly close as well. Cornard moved the ball around quickly they came close with a low drive. just before h.t Lisa Hynard who was having a good game done well cutting out a dangerous through ball. The second half Cornard created a lot of chances. It was hard for Bacton with no subs this week, Megan Davies got a knock and was struggling for a while. Cornard got a second when a player got on the end of one of our goal kicks and lashed the ball home. Bacton tried hard to get back into the game but Cornard scored with a well taken third goal.

U14 - Bury Town 'A' 2 Bury Town 'B' 0.

At all local derby matches no matter what the level, the form book goes out of the window and this game was no exception, it looked as if Bury 'A' were going to take it easily when Hannah Merriam squeezed the first goal through an unlucky keepers legs after 5 minutes, but Bury 'A' then lost the impetus and allowed Bury 'B to come back into the game and they were unlucky not to get the equalizer. The second period was a repeat of the first, Gemma Sadler getting Bury A's second and then Bury 'A' squandering numerous chances, and allowing Bury 'B' to break and come very close but not quite able to convert.

U13 - Waveney Girls 2 Brandon Lasses 1

Lasses started as if they meant business and had Waveney on the back foot for long periods of the first half. They got their reward on 20 minutes when Lilly Reynolds got on the end of a long goal kick from Amber Browne. By half time Brandon could have doubled their lead but for the Waveney keeper.

The 2nd half started with Brandon holding strong in defence but Waveney were starting to build more and more attacks and inevitably the home side equalised with 15minutes left. Lasses defended doggedly but eventually Waveney's strikers started to break Brandon's tiring rear guard and was cruel on them when the home side got the winner with 5 minutes left.
final score Waveney 2 Brandon Lasses 1
