U15 -
Framlingham Town 0 Woodbridge Town 3
A perfect day for football
with bright sunshine and two teams of
enthusiastic players. Woodbridge played
patient attacking football right from the
off and were unlucky not to score from a
couple of brave headers from well placed
corners. The Framlingham ladies defended
with grit and determination however it did
seem inevitable that goals from Woodbridge
would come. Goals from Louise Garwood, Abbey
Barwick and Gabby Harrison sealed the points
for the visitors and keeps them in the hunt
for silverware! Gabby Harrison continued her
role of midfield dynamo and once more gained
the votes of her team mates as player of the
match. In defence the Town Trinity of Nunn,
Lewington and Laflin were rock solid with
Elle Lewington playing her best game to
date. Town manager John Nunn used his
substitutes wisely given the unusual
February heatwave and it was good to see all
players enjoy long periods of play on the
day.

U14
- Bacton United 1 Copleston SC. 1
Before this match Bacton were sporting their
new training tops generously sponsored by
M.W.Tasker Haulage. This game was an open
game with a lot of goal chances at both
ends. Bacton looked dangerous early on Alice
Morton burst through, the keeper bravely
saving it looked like Angelica Arnold would
net the rebound but somehow the ball spun
away from the goal. A good strong tackle
from Jordan Davies halted an attack the
other end. Bacton had a scare when a goal
bound shot was cleared off the line from
Tiffany Weeks. Bacton should of scored on
the stroke of h.t as a Grania Smith corner
only needed a head on it but no Bacton
player went for it. The second half soon
bought a goal Grania doing well to wiggle
past a couple of defenders in a crowded area
to put Bacton ahead. Copleston soon
equalized shooting low inside the post.
Copleston were trying their luck with some
long range efforts, one well held by
Bacton's keeper Georgie Bryant back in goal
after her hand injury. Amber Britton came
close with a first time effort from Megan
Davies cross. Plenty of goal-mouth action
but no more goals. |
