U14 - Brandon Lasses
7 Witnesham Wasps 0
(Francesca Bonnett 4, Charlotte Howard 2,
Dayna Howard 1)
The Lasses needed a point from this fixture
to become Suffolk Girls League champions and
put in a terrific team performance to beat
high flying visitors Witnesham Wasps 7-0.
Charlotte Howard gave the home side a 12th
minute lead after some good build up between
her and Francesca Bonnett, Dayna Howard made
it two after Witnesham failed to clear her
corner with well struck drive from the edge
of the area and after a terrific run from
Paige Kenny she set up Francesca to turn her
defender to make it three. Brandon then
scored their fourth again assisted by Paige
Kenny who's shot was parried buy the
Witnesham keeper but Francesca was first to
react. H/T 4-0
The visitors started the
second half well but the Brandon defence of
April Harrild , Ellen Rumsey, Natasha Dawson
and Leanne Smith in goal were in superb form
to keep another clean sheet and Evie Laddell
and Dayna worked well in mid-field. As the
half went on the Lasses looked sharp on the
break and Charlotte added her second from a
good goal kick from Leanne Smith and then
Charlotte turned provider for Francesca to
complete a very good hatrick. Francesca
capped things off with her fourth and a
great individual goal.
With only a bare nine available on the day
this was very good controlled team display
and very deserved League title by this small
but very committed squad well done girls for
a superb achievement!
U13 -
Brandon Lasses 4 Whitton United 2
(Lilly Reynolds 3, Rachel Lynch 1)
Brandon clinched 2nd place in the league
with this performance. Lasses raced into an
early lead when Lily Reynolds followed up a
shot which rebounded off the keeper. The
same player followed up her own effort for
number two.
Just before half time Brandon got their 3rd
from a spectacular long shot from Rachel
Lynch.
Brandon eased up a bit in the second half
which allowed the visitors a breakaway goal.
But Lilly Reynolds restored the three goal
advantage with her hat-trick. Lasses lost
Mariah Moules with what looked like a bad
injury, Whitton capitalised on this with
their 2nd goal on the final whistle.

U11 -
Waveney Girls 'A' 1 Copleston SC 0
Waveney welcomed new league
champions and a team unbeaten this season to
a snowy Barnards Meadow. Both teams started
brightly in cold conditions with keeper M
Shields in usual fine form with the
Copleston keeper also making good saves
especially a low drive from A Lark pushing
it round to post. A Selby and Z Cossey
combined well, to create chances for
themselves and forwards A Cheverton and S
Henwood to score only to be thwarted by the
keeper. After one run Z Cossey was upended
in the box to see her resulting penalty hit
the bar and bounce out. B Picton came on to
replace tiring legs and was straight into
the action. A Selbys corners only needed a
touch, but the breakthrough came after Z
Cosseys shot hit the back of the net.
Copleston in the second half
pushed forward to find an equaliser but came
up against one of the meanest defences in
the league L Eaton and D Warner who together
worked tirelessly to shut out Copleston.
Well done to all the players, supporters,
parents and sponsors, C. Caplin Bespoke
woodworks and Codswallop fish and chips for
their support. Good luck in the Cup final on
the 20th April.
