We have had a few queries in recent weeks regarding the clarification of players wearing jewellery in girls’ & women’s matches within Suffolk. Please see full clarification below:                                                                                                                 1.      It is Referee’s role is to inspect footwear and jewellery before each and every match.                                                                      2.      Law 4 states: "A player must not use equipment or wear anything which is dangerous to herself or another player, including any kind of jewellery."                                                                                                                                                       3.      All jewellery, including plain wedding rings, must be removed. The Referee’s decision is final and players in contravention of this Law must not be allowed to enter the field of play.                                                                                                               GLASSES:  The FA guidelines state that this is acceptable so long as the glasses used are designed specifically for sports ie. made of a safe material (strengthened plastic for example) and secured around the head by way of elastic. I would suggest that you communicate any concerns with the opposition coach prior to kick off to ensure that any glasses worn are suitable and safe.

DATES FOR THE DIARY

League Management Meetings; Girls League - 6th February.  Womens League - 12th March.  Both at Suffolk FA HQ.

Girls teams please ensure referees are given good information re duration of matches - it has been reported that a referee was advised wrongly. Please read rule 10 (B) for the correct information.
